The Faribault Rifle & Pistol Club was formally established on 13 July 1947, but existed for many years prior to that date. Originally when formed, it was a group of high power rifle shooters who formed into a competitive group. From those roots, it has evolved into a club which offers various rifle and pistol shooting opportunities for those who are interested in the shooting sports.
For about 50 years, the club operated a rifle range on leased land just north of Faribault. In the late 1990’s the club purchased the 64 acres which currently hold the club’s operations. The location is in a remote part of Rice County where wildlife abounds. You will frequently encounter deer, turkeys, pheasants, geese, ducks, coyotes, fox, etc. There is, of course, no hunting allowed on the range.
Work DayReminder: Our first Work Day of the year is Saturday, April 28 at 9:00 a.m. There will be tasks for people of all skills and abilities. Bring work gloves, water bottles, pry bars, and hand saws if you have them – but don’t stay away if you don’t have them. The range will be closed while we are working. Bring your lunch and a beverage. |
